Because if you’re reading this, it means you’ve taken the time in some way to follow this blog in some form over the last year and some months. By email, social media, or otherwise.
In a time when we’re flooded with content 24/7, that truly means a lot. Thank you.
I’m also grateful for your comments, feedback, and sharing of the posts and social media over that time. It has confirmed there’s room for a conversation about the Creative Church that engages Millennials and the generations together to launch people and ideas:
-How can the Church be a physical space that brings Millennials and the generations together Monday through Saturday?
-How can the Church do mentorship and intergenerational relationship well?
-How can the Church be an investor and sponsor for the ideas that come out of those intergenerational relationships?
It turns out the places that have changed the world in a changing world, and engaged the generations doing it, have all asked and answered these questions in innovative ways. That’s good news for the church, and for you as a thought leader asking them.
But I also found out something else from listening and talking with you. There’s not yet a place that draws this conversation and those talking about it together. A place for churches and leaders with a heart for Millennials and the next generations to learn together with other churches and leaders. A gathering point to understand the DNA of Millennial Creatives and Professionals and what they’re needing from their church and older champions of the faith. A community to connect people and share resources.
That’s the next step of this blog that I’m excited to announce.
Based on your encouragement, I’ll be launching over the next few weeks 100 Creative Cities, an online learning network for churches and leaders who want to creatively engage Millennials in their church, and for the community.
The name reflects a big, hairy, audacious goal to convene 5 churches in each of 100 cities, globally, dedicated to experimenting with and innovating the Creative Church that brings the generations together to launch people and ideas.
